"LA PIEVE" farm lies in the heart of the Maremma Grossetana, an area characterized by sweet hills and mild climate that is perfect for the growing of native vine and olive trees. This area of Maremma is part of a wider district that includes diverse natural environments: from the coastline in the south, with the Maremma Natural Park, and the Blue Flag seaside resorts of Castiglione della Pescaia and Marina di Grosseto, to the landscapes of Mount Amiata. At the foot of this district

lies the farm, owned by the Petri family since 1954. The hills of Maremma are the repository of wine-growing and olive-growing traditions, thanks to the impact of the sea stream on a basically mild climate, with not too hot and dry summers and not too cold and dry winters. Not incidentally, many important wine-growing and olive-growing areas have been identified here: Montecucco (D.O.C., controlled designation of origin), Morellino di Scansano (D.O.C.G., controlled and guaranteed designation of origin), the recent D.O.C. Maremma Toscana and TUSCAN IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) for oil. Climate and typology of territory have promoted and favoured the birth of rural traditions inspired by healthy and wise care and an accurate exploitation of the land, aiming at creating a healthy and ethical lifestyle while respecting environmental balance.
